FromMarch 3rd to 7th, 2026, CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2026, the world's premierconstruction machinery event, officially opened in Las Vegas, USA. Asa triennial industry trendsetter, this year's exhibition broughttogether over 2,800 global companies. Caterpillar, Komatsu, Volvo, and Chinese companies such as Sany and XCMG competed on the samestage, showcasing the latest technologies and product trends in theconstruction machinery industry. As a global construction machinerygiant, Komatsu showcased several new intelligent electric products atthe exhibition and announced increased investment in the NorthAmerican market, strengthening its localized production and servicecapabilities, attracting global industry attention and bringing newcooperation opportunities to its foreign trade partners.
Atthis exhibition, Komatsu focused on intelligent electrification anddigital transformation, launching the new generation PC220LCi-12 andPC365LC-11 excavators. These two new models utilize electric driveswing and intelligent control technology, achieving approximately a15% increase in productivity and a 20% reduction in fuel consumptionin the 37-39 ton class. They combine high efficiency, energy saving, and environmental friendliness, aligning with global "dual-carbon"goals and the green transformation trend in construction machinery. In addition, Komatsu also showcased two new-generation bulldozers anda brand-new large-tonnage articulated dump truck, further enrichingits intelligent electric product portfolio and demonstratingKomatsu's profound technological accumulation in the field ofintelligent electrification.
Besidesthe new product launches, Komatsu emphasized the promotion of itsSmart Construction digital construction platform and Smart QuarryAutonomous solution. These solutions enable autonomous modificationof both new and old mining trucks, establishing a data loop fromsurveying and construction to operation and maintenance. Thisachieves intelligent and automated management of the constructionprocess, significantly improving construction efficiency, reducinglabor costs, and adapting to the construction needs of large-scaleprojects in mines and infrastructure worldwide. Among them, the SmartQuarry Autonomous solution enables mining trucks to autonomouslydrive, load, and unload, effectively improving the safety andefficiency of mining operations and attracting significant attentionfrom mining companies worldwide.
Regardingits North American market strategy, Komatsu announced continuedinvestment in infrastructure, positioning North America as its"second home market" to further strengthen its localizedproduction and service capabilities. It is reported that Komatsu isinvesting approximately $80 million in a new 215,000-square-footmining sales and service center in Mesa, Arizona. The center isexpected to be completed by the end of 2026 and will significantlyenhance Komatsu's service capabilities for mining customers insouthwestern North America, while creating 100 new long-term jobs. Inaddition, Komatsu is expanding its parts center in Edmonton, Canadaby 135,000 square feet, doubling its warehouse capacity and furtherimproving parts delivery capabilities in Canada and western NorthAmerica, shortening delivery cycles, and providing more efficientservice to local customers.
Tofurther align with customers' long-term needs for cost reduction andsustainability, Komatsu recently acquired SRC of Lexington, a USremanufacturing company, to expand its remanufactured partsproduction capacity and enhance its remanufacturing and recyclingcapabilities in key assemblies such as engines and transmissions.Through this acquisition, Komatsu will further improve its partssupply system in the North American market, providing customers withcost-effective remanufactured parts, reducing their operating costs, promoting resource recycling, practicing green developmentprinciples, and enhancing brand competitiveness.
